What is the Internet?
The Internet is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as "an international information network linking computers, accessible to the public via modem links." The Internet as we know it today, otherwise referred to as the 'World Wide Web', is a massive network of computers interconnected all over the world, and has become a primary means of communication and exchanging of information for businesses and even day-to-day tasks.
What is DNS?
DNS stands for Domain Name System, or also may be called Domain Name Service or Server. It is an Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Most of us better understand domain names as alphabetic characters and words, but the domain names we type into our web browser are merely representations of IP addresses. So, the role of a DNS server is to grab a domain name and translate this name into it's corrosponding IP address.
